چکیده

(1) Background: The Cordia alliodora (Ruiz & Pav.) Oken (laurel) natural regeneration management is a widespread practice among smallholders in the Amazon upper basin for establishment of traditional agroforestry systems. This tree approach opposite to development project proposals that contemplate reforestation with nursery seedlings region. present study evaluated effects thinning levels on diameter and basal area increment laurel system; (2) Methods: A randomized complete block design three replications was used, target variables were growth rate at breast height (DBH) trees. Twelve square field plots, 400 m² each, established plot network covering 1.0 km × 0.5 area. Three applied: light, moderate, intensive thinning; (3) Results: system investigated characterized by marginal trees, an average yield 125.26 m3 ha−1 (±15.39) MAI 13.92 9 years age density 418 trees ha−1. value relation between number removed (NG value) 1.15, small variation so all them thinned from below. treatment, leaving 200 ha−1, caused greatest annual increase individual DBH (2.03 cm) (61.37 cm2) both absolute relative terms improved height/diameter ratio; (4) Conclusions: Management systems could be early ages, well-spaced per ha.

Changes in Soil Physical and Chemical Properties in Long Term Improved Natural and Traditional Agroforestry Management Systems of Cacao Genotypes in Peruvian Amazon

Growing cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) in an agroforestry system generates a productive use of the land, preserves the best conditions for physical, chemical and biological properties of tropical soils, and plays an important role in improving cacao production and fertility of degraded tropical soils. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of two long term agroforestry systems of cacao ma...
